In this interview, I talk with GDM. Born in 1954 in St. Louis, GDM grew up on a farm in Western Illinois. She lived with her sister for her last two years of high school in Tennesee, then went to college in Colorado. After that, she spent several years in the Peace Corps in various locations in Africa. Returning to the U.S., she got a law degree and a Master's in Law (LLM) at Yale, then took a job in New Zealand. She's been in New Zealand ever since. She and her husband became dual U.S. - N.Z. citizens.

She offers an interesting perspective through the lens of these enriching experiences. Always curious, she explain why she hated school, but then went on to become a teacher.
